Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics has announced the availability of its portable optical power meter for fiber network testing. This cost-effective meter is intended for installation, calibration and maintenance of telecommunications and CATV networks. The optical power meter features a small size and light weight and conducts multi-mode measurements, which makes it well-suited for field use.
The highly accurate power meter, model 3020, tests optical power within the wavelength range of 1310nm to 1550nm. The optical power meter also features a large graphic LCD providing clock display, low battery indication, mode indication, name of selected item, function prompt area and current selection function indication. Also, it has a self-initiated on-line help function and gives hints or warnings automatically when an operation fails. Upon power up, this handheld power meter offers a quick response time without warm-up and is capable of self-test and self-check for hardware and parameters. Measurement results can be automatically transformed into report forms, and printed via an RS232 interface or transmitted to a PC.
