Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics is offering its fiber optic visual light source which provides 1 to 6 wavelengths of highly stable output including 650 nm visible red light, 1310/1550 nm wavelengths for single mode fiber and 850/1300 nm wavelengths for multimode fiber. As well, other optional wavelengths are available. When used together with GAO’s 5304 fiber optical power meter, the pair provides a precise testing solution for optical networks. It is an economic and efficient solution for measuring optical loss in fiber in the testing and maintenance of telecom, CATV and other fiber optic applications. The portable fiber optic visual light source belongs to GAO’s Light Source family of products.
This handheld fiber optic visual light source, model 5204, operates at modulation frequencies of CW, 2 Hz modulation output at 650 nm and CW, 270 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz modulation output at other wavelengths. This fiber optic visual light source features highly stable output power, one-touch switch operation, auto-off function after 10 minutes of idle time, low battery power indication and a back lit LCD display. FC, PC and other adapters are available. The light source is powered by 9 V AC adaptor or 3 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries, which provide a long operating time of 45 h.
