Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics has launched its 4 port 10/100Base-Tx and 1 port 100 Base-Fx Ethernet switch. It is an optical fiber switch that offers 1 port 100Base-FX optical and 4 port 10/100Base-Tx copper. The Ethernet switch is a low cost, flexible bandwidth solution to efficiently handle the heavy traffic of local workgroups thus reducing the need of expensive routers on the network backbone.
This high performance Ethernet switch complies with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u and IEEE802.3x standards. It supports both single optical fiber and dual optical fiber and works under both half and full-duplex mode. It uses Star network topology and allows MAC self-learning and automatic MDI/MDI-X configuration. This easy-to-use Ethernet switch provides 10/100 M auto-negotiation and a maximum speed of up to 20/200 M in full-duplex mode. In addition, it features store and forward switching mode.
This 4 Port 10/100Base-Tx and 1 Port 100 Base-Fx Ethernet switch belongs to GAO’s family of Fiber Switch. Other models in this line include 6 Port 10/100Base-TX Ethernet Switch with 1 Port 100Base-FX Uplink and 6 Port 10/100Base-TX Ethernet Switch with 2 Port 100Base-FX Uplink. The line of products is an ideal option for fiber to home (FTTH) optical fiber solution, and city optical fiber networks.
