It is able to display the length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault point and loss distribution curves of the fiber, as well as, loss between two points, splice loss and return loss. This optical time domain reflectometer supports CATV, ISP and telecommunication fiber networks. It is commonly used for loss analysis and fault location in the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks and equipment.
This portable OTDR, model 3026, supports up to six sets of test result comparisons simultaneously while any single result is observable. It features a compact size and easy operation making it convenient for outdoor testing; a large battery capacity enables continuous operation for more than 12 hours. The OTDR has a rapid response time which allows it to finish 50km of fiber measurement in 30s with a high S/N ratio. It provides two on screen markers that can be used to zoom in and out on curve details and automatically locates fault points and then creates a list. The test results and event analysis lists can be printed out through the print-screen-function, which enables the user to upload the data to a PC.
