Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics has released a series of plug-and-play Ethernet media converters which are compliant with the IEEE802.3 standard. These converters are designed to convert data signals between 10/100 Base-Tx and 100 Base-Fx fast Ethernet networks. The converters can be used as either standalone units or slide-in modules in a converter rack or in a central wiring closet. Converted data signals can be transmitted over a long distance of up to 20km. This advanced Ethernet media converter series includes the following modules: 3301, 3302, 3303, 3305-1, 3305-2 and 3305-3.
GAO Fiber Optics’ long distance Ethernet media converter series supports both full-duplex and half-duplex communications and easily connect fiber cables to twisted cable segments. They feature built-in remote diagnostic capability and a unique switch chip design. Each module boasts a 512kb SSRAM buffer and a 2k MAC address list. Easy-to-read LEDs are provided to ensure convenient monitoring of operational status. What’s more, the converters have functions for broadcast filtering, address auto-learning, auto-update as well as store-and-forward mechanisms.
