Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics is offering its fiber optic fusion splicer which is an ideal solution for single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic applications. It has 5 pre-set settings and 5 user-definable settings each for both SM and MM fibers. This fiber optic fusion splicer is suited for splicing dispersion shifted, non-zero dispersion shifted and erbium doped fibers.
This easy-to-use fiber optic fusion splicer, model 1202, automatically adjusts to environmental conditions using built-in temperature, humidity, pressure sensors which provide constant feedback signals to control the fusion arc temperature. It features auto-check of fiber end-face, auto-calculation of the splicing loss, auto-selection of a suitable fusion program and simultaneous X and Y views. The splicer’s average splicing loss is 0.01dB on multi-mode fiber and 0.02dB in single mode fiber. Typical splicing time is ten seconds; the typical heating time is 60 seconds, What’s more, the flexible splicer displays the current time and data as well as the current operating mode.
